PayMaya is a free digital wallet for easy, reliable, and secure payments. One online payment account that has an app where you can load up in convenience stores, pawnshops, and mall and can purchase anything online. PayMaya processed $1 billion in transactions. As of September 2021, it has 38 million registered users.
(WHAT WE DID)
They needed to refresh the entire PayMaya brand through an adaptable, robust design system, that connects their new audience (millennials) to their mission and their message, in a culture that is still apprehensive towards modern fintech.
So we took the time to understand their customers and their app, and closely collaborated with the internal team to create a new strategy and Design DNA to come to life.
The strategy was simple and catchy: Maya brand needed to show it grew & become cooler, bigger & smarter. Sort of elder brother for their customers.
In the development phase, we created a comprehensive design system for a consistent look and feel across the app. We educated our internal team on its implementation, fostering collaboration. The redesign, completed in 8 months, coincided with the April 2022 Maya rebrand, marking a successful integration of user-centric design and efficient development practices.
